lunch

today i prepared the lunch for my friends... i decided to prepare a typical dish from finland : a kalakukko: fish in a  crunchy bread. It was a real surprise for them because 4 of my friends are american boys and they are unable to eat others things that hamburger, chips....they are very fat....it's an other difference between finland and USA. Here there are a lot of fat womens and mens whereas in Finland people are carefull with food. My meal was a real success...Tomorrow our french friend who's name is lucas will prepare us french pancakes.

I don't give news for a week...I was very busy,

I don't give news for a week...I was very busy, because i worked in apple store of 5th avenue, and it was very tiring, but interresting too because i met a lot of different people. During the week in the store, I was named the best seller, so they offer me a mac book pro...In Finland a such thing is impossible! I'm very happy because i can speak with my friends and my family in finland with skype.

Some times i'm bored. It's difficult to be far from my country.

I have to go shopping now because i'm renting a loft with 5 guys, and I have to prepare the lunch!

a Job for christmast!

On december, 23th after 3 weeks in new york, and as a gift for christmast,  i get a job in a famous restaurant next central park. My gap year begins as well i wished...In usa, it's very different from finland for the wage, because customers have to pay a tip, so if you work in a famous restaurant you can win a good wage. I stayed tree months in this restaurant and i have win about 8 000 $. My parents are very proud of me, because after i left for new york they thought i couldn't manage on mine own....

about me...

I forgot speaking about me...My name is Paolo Rikert, i come from finland and i'm 19 years old. When i was younger, I travelled a lot with my mother and i'm fond of travels. i'm student and i would like becoming a big boss to travel all over the world. I'm now in new york city to observe the american's way of life. It's really different from finland. In new york people are living during the night where as in finland everybody are at home early at evening. In new york city, lights are swichted on in offices, in my country people are carefull with energy...we have to respect environment...here in new york people don't seem interrest with energy questions.... arrival in usa in new york city

I arrived in new york city, on 1st décembre 2011, 5 months ago. When i arrived by plane on JF kennedy airport, it was so exciting and

fabulous...All these buildings, and this mervellous town which looking like an island....i was in a dream...the american dream....my dream

I was very tired, after a trip of 10 hours, but i was so happy too. The weather was cold and sunny. The control at the airport was hard and the officer asked me a lot of questions...Why are you coming there? Do you have friend in new york? Do you have an adress? Do you have a job?...Why don't you have a return ticket for your country?....

This control seems me an eternity....about one hour. When the officer understood that i was an etudiant who came for gap year.he allowed me to go!

I was free!....in a unknown town....and i suddenly felt afraid about mu futur....  Paolo
